The Cultural Arts Council of Douglasville/Douglas County, in partnership with the City of Douglasville, is ready to celebrate Spring with the community’s most popular event of the year, the annual Taste of Douglasville! Each year, participants not only enjoy Taste of Douglasville, but they also help the Cultural Arts Council support school programs reaching local students, providing affordable spring and summer arts camps in county and city parks, free “Family ARTSVentures!” curricula-based school performances followed by the same artists performing spring and fall concerts for the whole family, critically acclaimed gallery exhibits at the historic Roberts-Mozley House, and many more special events like the Mad Hatter’s Tea Party.

Spend a fun-filled Saturday with Kitty Up Cat Rescue at L&R Alpaca Haven Farm!
There will be bingo🎲, 🎟raffle items to win, and pizza🍕
All proceeds benefit our various programs: We focus on rescuing and helping stray cats with our spay/neuter program, alongside our educating efforts, adoption/fostering program, TNR program, pledging program, and transporting. We are working to help decrease the overpopulation of cats and increase the number of cats we re-home and help to have a better quality of life.

Once every two years, one of the largest groups of artists in Douglas County come together to display the work they have been creating. This exhibit is known to have on display everything from stained glass shining through the windows to clay sculptures and wood-turned vessels, along with breathtaking paintings and plenty of surprises between. The exhibit will be on display from May 9 to June 23, with an opening reception on May 26, from 6:00-8:00 pm, hosted by the Rotary Club of Douglas County.

We’re building a healthy community by providing access to nature to relieve stress, strengthen interpersonal relationships and improve mental wellbeing. Celebrate Family Health + Fitness Day 2022 on June 11 from 10 AM – 12 PM at Worthan Park. Come out to your home for the arts on July 14th from 5-7 pm to taste local cuisine and shop small businesses. Summer Pop Up Parties are inspired by the community and encourage one another to shop local. You, your friends and family can come out to taste local cuisine and shop goods from local artists. Support your “home for the arts – the CAC” by buying a $20 artwork from the annual Summer “Tiny Fundraiser,” shop the Pop Up Arts Shop which features a new artist each month, and learn about classes and more arts opportunities. The Douglasville Police Department is having a Criminal Activity Town Hall Meeting at the Police Department Community Room on August 16, and we are inviting you to be a part of it. We hope you will come out and join us for this in-person event.
